James Murray, associate

I have lived in Wellington County for most of my life. I grew up in the nearby town of Orton and attended high school in Erin. After graduating cum laude from the University of Guelph music program I moved to Toronto where I attended Osgoode Hall Law School. I was called to the bar in 2008 and moved back to Guelph where I began practicing law. Now, I am very pleased to be practicing law in Fergus as well. My family still lives nearby and it feels like a return to my roots.

I focus primarily on estate planning, real estate and business law. In particular, I deal with wills and powers of attorney, estate tax planning, trusts, residential purchases, sales, refinancing and all aspects of business law including incorporations, shareholders agreements and commercial leasing. I sit on the Board of Directors for the Centre-Wellington Chamber of Commerce and am always happy to help local businesses.

I’m an avid musician and have been playing professionally for 20 years. When I’m not at work or chasing after my very active 5 year old, you can find me playing cover songs and original music around Guelph’s many music venues.
